PR & link building for SMEs that need more authority.
Small businesses often know they need links — but not every link is worth having. SEO Tribe focuses on practical, relevant authority building: finding opportunities your competitors have missed, improving your existing mentions, and creating outreach angles that make sense for your industry.
Links are still important — but quality matters more than volume.
Google has spent the last decade getting better at ignoring low‑quality, irrelevant or paid‑in‑bulk links. The links that move rankings now are the ones that look exactly like something a journalist or industry site would have linked anyway: relevant, editorial, on a page real people read. That's the only kind we go after.
What we look for in a link.
Five filters every opportunity has to pass before we recommend going after it.
Relevance
The linking site is in your industry, your audience, or covers topics your prospects actually read.
Editorial standards
Real editors, real authors, real content. No PBNs, no link farms dressed up as "premium publications".
Topical fit
The host page is about something your page is also about. The link makes sense to a reader, not just a crawler.
Traffic potential
Real people might click. Pure SEO links are less valuable than they used to be — referral traffic is a bonus we look for.
Realistic authority signals
A pattern of editorial behaviour, not inflated metrics gamed for vendor screenshots.
Sustainable pace
Steady, plausible growth in your link profile — not a spike that gets reviewed by Google's algorithms in the bad way.
What we do — and what we don't.
Being upfront here saves both of us time on the discovery call.
We do
- Editorial‑style outreach to real publications and sites
- Digital PR — campaigns, data stories and expert commentary
- Link reclamation — turning unlinked mentions into links
- Competitor link gap analysis
- Partner, supplier and association link opportunities
- Honest reporting on what landed, what didn't, and why
We don't
- Spammy link networks or PBNs
- Bulk low‑quality guest posts
- Comment, forum or directory link drops
- Guaranteed‑rankings or "X links per month" commodity sales
- Vanity DA/DR screenshots with no traffic behind them
- Anything that we'd be embarrassed to show the linking site's editor

Quality outreach can't be guaranteed like a commodity. We commit to the work, the standards and the reporting — not to specific placements with specific metrics.
How outreach works.
The same five steps every link engagement runs through.
-
Research
Industry, audience, competitor links, content angles and reclamation candidates.
-
Prospect
Build a vetted list — sites, sections, editors and journalists worth approaching.
-
Angle
Develop the hook. A data point, a comment, a campaign asset — something an editor would actually want.
-
Outreach
Personalised, sent from a real inbox, with appropriate follow‑ups. No spray‑and‑pray.
-
Report
What we placed, what we pitched, what's still in flight, and what we learned for next month.
Quick answers on links.
Are links guaranteed?
No. Any agency promising a fixed number of links at fixed metrics is either selling commodity links (the kind we don't do) or setting themselves up to miss. We commit to the work — research, angles, outreach volume, follow‑up — and report transparently on placements landed.
What makes a good link?
Relevant site, editorial standards, topical fit on the page, plausible traffic, and a pattern of normal editorial linking. If a link looks like something a real editor would have placed unprompted, it's a good link.
Do you buy links?
No. We don't buy placements, we don't run PBNs, and we don't work with vendors who do. Some outreach involves paying for content production (data, design, assets) — but the link itself is editorial, or it isn't a link we're interested in.
How long does outreach take to show results?
The first month is mostly research and the first wave of outreach. Placements typically start landing month two onwards, and the cumulative effect on rankings shows over 3–6 months. We give you a realistic forecast at kick‑off.
Can you combine links with an SEO retainer?
Yes — that's exactly what the SEO Authority and SEO Tribe Pro packages are for. They bundle technical SEO, content and links so the on‑page foundation is ready for the authority you're building.
Let's talk about authority.
Tell us about your site, your industry and what you've tried. We'll suggest the right link package — or tell you honestly that links aren't your bottleneck yet.
